Subject: I love being IN it- I love the push and pull of the waves, like it's going to pull you right out and there's nothing you can do about it, that power is kind of mesmerizing. I was swimming at Vilano Beach in Florida one time and stood up to walk back to the shore, and had a wave just scoop me up and fling me onto the shore, I couldn't breath for a few seconds, because I hit so hard. It honestly felt like another person had picked me up and hurled me ashore.
In reply to: Mahri 's message, "This is a really wild, beautiful chapter. The storm, the other worldly feeling and Casey's 'ghost' story, it left me unsettled..not in a bad way...just somehow not at peace. As much as I love the ocean and being near the shore, I am not comfortable IN it, especially at night. Re-reading this reminded me of an incident at the beach one year - DH was stressed/frustrated so he took his wee beach chair down and sat right where the waves were crashing at his feet. Well the tide was coming in and I watched as the waves moved from crashing at his feet to his calves to his lap and I said to DD's 'If I have to go drag his ass out of that water, I'm gonna kill him' *g* Those certainly weren't lustful feelings hahaha" on 11:31:55 08/01/09 Sat
