Subject: Isn't there some scripture passage about cleansing the inside of the cup so the outside will be clean? And yeah, wow on the symbolism. I just love the whole visual of her being engulfed with renewing waters and letting all thats inside of her go so that she can present her physical self to her husband. The irony here of course that he knows something is just not quite right.

  • I'm a little late to the game here today as I had to work. As much as I do love the ocean in all its moods I do have to say I stay out of the ocean when it's this fierce :) I have an enormous amount of healthy respect mingled with fear for the power of the ocean, perhaps as a result of having grown up in a place whose culture is full of stories of men "taken" by the sea. This is a very elemental chapter, in ways far beyond the elements of weather, water, earth and sky. (NT) -- Carla, 16:52:24 08/01/09 Sat
