Subject: Was thinking about your descriptions of the evolving aspects in your writing, and it made me think about how your books really are your babies. With all our bio babies, we have plans and expectations when they're born, but as they grow, we see their own individuality take shape. There are times we might wish they'd conform to our version of ideal, and yet we can't help but respect their own emerging personalities. What you describe about writing is very much like parenting. We do our best to guide and direct, but in the end they take on lives of their own!
