Subject: I don't think they are the same thing

every situation is unique. I saw David, and I KNEW which daughter he was referring to ... I think it is safe to say any of his regular viewers did, as well. Clearly Letterman did NOT mean to say that about the younger daughter, so I think he's being unfairly treated...ESPECIALLY since he publicly, and abjectly apologized for any false impression he might have inadvertently created that he could have meant any daughter other than the 18 year old...Who, as a young mother, is ready to take on the public scrutiny, since the Palin's opened their lives to the 'public'. Isn't that part of celebrity? Taking on the glare of the spotlight on your private life is part of 'giving back to the fans.

If those comments had referred to a child of 14, that is crude calous, and sick...and that's exactly what Letterman said. He followed that with, 'anyone who has watched me over the years knows...that just isn't me.

I totally agree. It's not a part of Letterman's character, and I'm certain it didn't cross his mind anyone would think he was referring to any other than the "baby mama", daughter.
