If everyone would focus on what the man actually has to say about his vision and priorities and plans for fixing the mess that our country is in rather than a single verbal faux-pas that was CERTAINLY not meant in any vicious way, maybe they'd realize that he DOES want the best for us, that he DOES feel the way we do about AIG, et al and the bonuses scandal. His sense of ethics and what is right truly outweighs the rest. He was attempting to make a self-deprecating joke about his own ineptitude, he was certainly not trying to cause any harm to any group of people.

My family and I are particularly sensitive to the challenges that the developmentally disabled face - I have an uncle who is in his 60s with the emotional mentality of a 10year old. All my life, our whole family has rallied around the Special Olympics as well as regional events that focus on uplifting these great people. Neither I nor anyone in my family that I've spoken with has taken offense to "the comment".

Boy, they're really grasping at straws. And meanwhile, back at the ranch:

"Gov. Sarah Palin is refusing to accept over 30 percent of the federal economic stimulus money being offered to Alaska, including dollars for schools, energy assistance and social services."

So, she'll attack Obama for an innocent comment, but she will not accept money that will take the burden off of her state and its citizens to fund education and special programs that support these special people?? Hypocrisy in action, folks......

I actually would put more faith in Obama that he doesn't need the kid glove treatment, but that's just me.

Obama sent a letter to the president of France, Jacques Chirac. Unfortunately, France's president is now Nicholas Sarkozy. And they had the nerve to call Reagan senile and both Bush's stupid.

Barack Obama does not seem to know that in May 2007, French voters elected Nicolas Sarkozy to the French presidency, to succeed Jacques Chirac who had been president for twelve years.

Yesterday, we told you Sarkozy is irritated because Mister O. refuses to tell him if he will accept to meet him personally in the next few months.

Strangely, we have just learnt this surprising piece of news :

Barack Obama wrote a letter to Jacques Chirac to tell him about his desire to "work with him" for the next four years ! In a letter described by Chirac as "very nice," Obama wrote, "I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world." The use of the word "peace" was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed.

I don't post here anymore but I couldn't let this go by. Hogarth posted a completely false translation of the article in Figaro (really, it's not that hard to accurately translate French into English). Also, see link. Now, on with the hate!

We should focus on his intentions, not what he says? Too bad he didn't have his teleprompter to help him out. Seems like he isn't quite so Lincolnesque without the TOTUS. And he is just as outraged at the bonuses for AIG as we are? His administration added those bonuses for AIG! And now they are outraged?

There are thousands of people in this country that focus on the Special Olympics as one of the most important things in their life. I am sure he didn't mean to diminish them, but he did.

And oh yeah. Evil Sarah Palin. She doesn't want to accept a handout of taxpayer dollars that her state doesn't need. From your attachment, Josie:

"Palin said it's not a gift when Congress offers dollars with strings attached that would increase government and require the state to follow mandates from Washington, D.C."

I absolutely agree with that statement. You know, some Americans want their individual STATES to have RIGHTS. You know, like the United STATES of America? You know, like how any company that has accepted bailout $$$ is now totally under the thumb of the Obama government? Not an option, in my opinion.
