Subject: I am so glad to have some Conservative thought here!

for the longest time this was the Bush Bash Board --- I am not complaining, but it was.

I think the change has come about because, frankly, it is easier to complain than defend and also because more and more conservatives are coming out of the closet (so to speak) because of the horrible things (in our opinion) that are happening in Washington.

The only thing that bothers me is that when we conservatives post, we are accused of spreading hate (and in my case, being a racist). But, when liberals post here it is free speech. Go figure.

I really hope we can continue to have respectful discussions here from both sides --- but I am oh, so happy to have some company!

has somebody been hatin over here on the pol board while i've had better things to do?

who did it? i'll sic a horny toad on 'em.

Jeannine, i always love your posts. Like, for example, this one made me think about the far wing news media. Like, i watch Bill O' and he's all ticked off, borderline hater. And I'll watch Keith O' and he's all ticked off too. but i never realized that you might see Keith as a borderline hater too. i just thought he was a good journalist, who started as a sports journalist, who knows how to play this game.

I've just thought that all of them were just the mean kids, the ones that sat behind you in grade school and kept poking and poking and poking at your back with a pencil, or some such sharp object, 'til you just turned around and said WOULD YOU STOP IT?!?!?

Then you'd get in trouble for disrupting class and the pencil poker would just lean back in his desk and slightly smile.

darn it, Jeannine, if i could some up with something to defend the conservatives i would! xoxoox

oh.... i DID watch W. last weekend. loved James Cromwell as 41.

we have had some issues. Not to worry. I lived thru a top secret can't tell you or I'd have to kill you deal, so a little board squabble doesn't bother this Navy Horned Frog!!!

I absolutely refuse to believe that you don't recognize KO as a hater! I love him tho, cause he is incredibly dramatic "AND YOU, SIR, ARE ONE UP WITH WHOM I SHALL NO LONGER PUT!!!" (you have to say that out loud to get the full effect) and he takes himself so seriously. I also hate Bill O.... all ego, but I love Chris Matthews, cause he spits and drools... really! Watch for it! They are all overpaid monkeys, imo.

I watched W too. Eh. Not too impressed. Looking forward to the Lewinski movie with Dennis Quaid as Big Bubba and Julianne Moore (????) as Hillary. LOL.

i guess you gotta be hater to see hate.

i guess maybe a little bit of the protestant Easter Sunday school rubbed off on me.

there have been some KKK rallys here in my town. I don't go to wave signs or shout down. I go to gawk. respectfully, at the first amendment in action, freedom of speech, take photographs, freedom of press. that's all. hate bounces off.

and i'll burn my american flag rolling paper next 4th of July.

you're invited :-)

How about this:
1. Conservatives are human too.
2. Conservatives are your fellow country too.

Are those good reasons?

How about this:
1. Conservatives are human too.
2. Conservatives are your fellow countrypersons too.
3. Conservatives come in all shapes, sizes, religions, colours and creeds -- and nationalities -- just like liberals.

Are those good reasons?

those are just reasons for people being people.

sometimes i wonder about the most staunch conservatives even being human. why did George Bush, i'm not bashing, i'm just askin, wanna go kill so many human lives just to watch Saddam drop from the gallow on utube?

don't get me started about Katrina. how can a conservative president not turn on CNN and watch hundreds of humans dieing by the minute by drowning or heat stroke or heart attacks or bullets. and not rescue our own city. it's new orleans ferchrisake. we can't even control within 12 hours the lives and safety of our own citizens. there's humanity in action.

... and they are human. That comment invalidates anything you could say JayJay, and the rest of your post is just bunk.

I found it exhausting and much akin to banging my head against the wall. So I'm here now to complain about Obama. Sure I'm a hypocrite. So what? :P

"If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain." No, it was not Winston Churchill, I guess it's Unknown who wrote it, but I heard it in my head often before switching parties. So what that I saw the light at an older age, but by golly I've arrived :-)

I will hold off on any specific comments about this administration until 100 days have passed. In the meantime, I will say this man scares me, before the election and now. As I mentioned before, I didn't vote for him or McCain. Actually, I voted Libertarian as I believe in small government, etc. I don't want the govenment involved with my own personal pursuit of happiness.

[> Not all the Big Bad Liberals are gone -- DizzyDeb, 12:49:12 03/27/09 Fri [1]

I just haven't been posting because it seems like there's a lot of getting even going on. And a lot of generalizations as well. I learned to temper my speech because of people being offended by my generalizations for the last few years. And rightly so. It's made me watch what I say and how I say it.

As for everyone being scared, now some might have an idea of what a lot of us felt for the past two elections. Am I scared of the future? You betcha! But the President came into office with a whole mess of problems not many before him have had to face. Do I agree with everything he's saying? Nope. But I do know he's only been in office a little over two months. That's an awfully short time to decide he's going to ruin the country and the world. And he's not going to turn things around in two months.

I would just hope that the things some were complaining about over the last several years will not be repeated by those who were most offended.

[> [> No one wants you to go away, LA, and no one thinks you are bad. -- Jeannine, 17:59:04 03/27/09 Fri [1]

and if it seems like getting even, I am sorry. We are all equal, and there is nothing to get even for. I KNOW how you felt for the last two election cycles. And your team won and is large and in charge. Accepted. I just hope we all make it. Seriously. And I am glad to have a place where we can discuss it.

I am glad that you are speaking up. I, too am a gay marriage suporting, Iraq war hating, stem cell harvesting, gun regulating, health care reforming and Obama supporting liberal also. At work, I deal with a pack of very conservative types who assume because I don't discuss politics, that I agree with them. I am so tired of recieving email about Obama is a Muslim ruining the country, and how he is the antichrist, even! I just delete without reading them now. I too, was frightened from the previous elections, not so much from the president, but the machine that got him elected. I would like to agree on the things that happened while he was in office, but in my heart I just can't.

I am not sure how Obama will do in the next 4 years, but I hope for the sake of the country that things change from the last 8.

Miss you scooter!

I do mostly lurk any more because I don't have a lot of time to post. Plus I think it's a bit early to begin making predictions on how this President is doing. I haven't defended the new policies because I don't know enough about them yet.

And I know you're having troubles dealing with the new policies & administration. I have several conservative friends who are feeling the same. And I don't know how to answer them either. It's going to be a big change for everyone. It's just that some of us are feeling more optimistic than others. I usually am - until I look at my paycheck!
