"If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain." No, it was not Winston Churchill, I guess it's Unknown who wrote it, but I heard it in my head often before switching parties. So what that I saw the light at an older age, but by golly I've arrived :-)

I will hold off on any specific comments about this administration until 100 days have passed. In the meantime, I will say this man scares me, before the election and now. As I mentioned before, I didn't vote for him or McCain. Actually, I voted Libertarian as I believe in small government, etc. I don't want the govenment involved with my own personal pursuit of happiness.

I just haven't been posting because it seems like there's a lot of getting even going on. And a lot of generalizations as well. I learned to temper my speech because of people being offended by my generalizations for the last few years. And rightly so. It's made me watch what I say and how I say it.

As for everyone being scared, now some might have an idea of what a lot of us felt for the past two elections. Am I scared of the future? You betcha! But the President came into office with a whole mess of problems not many before him have had to face. Do I agree with everything he's saying? Nope. But I do know he's only been in office a little over two months. That's an awfully short time to decide he's going to ruin the country and the world. And he's not going to turn things around in two months.

I would just hope that the things some were complaining about over the last several years will not be repeated by those who were most offended.

and if it seems like getting even, I am sorry. We are all equal, and there is nothing to get even for. I KNOW how you felt for the last two election cycles. And your team won and is large and in charge. Accepted. I just hope we all make it. Seriously. And I am glad to have a place where we can discuss it.

I am glad that you are speaking up. I, too am a gay marriage suporting, Iraq war hating, stem cell harvesting, gun regulating, health care reforming and Obama supporting liberal also. At work, I deal with a pack of very conservative types who assume because I don't discuss politics, that I agree with them. I am so tired of recieving email about Obama is a Muslim ruining the country, and how he is the antichrist, even! I just delete without reading them now. I too, was frightened from the previous elections, not so much from the president, but the machine that got him elected. I would like to agree on the things that happened while he was in office, but in my heart I just can't.

I am not sure how Obama will do in the next 4 years, but I hope for the sake of the country that things change from the last 8.

Miss you scooter!

I do mostly lurk any more because I don't have a lot of time to post. Plus I think it's a bit early to begin making predictions on how this President is doing. I haven't defended the new policies because I don't know enough about them yet.

And I know you're having troubles dealing with the new policies & administration. I have several conservative friends who are feeling the same. And I don't know how to answer them either. It's going to be a big change for everyone. It's just that some of us are feeling more optimistic than others. I usually am - until I look at my paycheck!
