Subject: Hi. Can I have 25 billion dollars?

I need it to save the company I have mismanaged over the last few years.

You have to give it to me, the country's economy depends on saving my company.

What's that you say? Do I have a plan to change the way we operate? Of course not, it's business as usual full steam ahead. But only until January when I'll be needing more money, this is just enough to tide us over until the first of the year.

You know, I had to use my private jet to fly here and ask you for the money. Oh no, I couldn't possibly fly commercial. Safety reasons you know. Must have a private jet in case something happens to me; the lively hood of the company I run depends on me. It might *gasp* go under if I wasn't here to manage things!

we just gave $700 billion to bail out banks and mortgage companies without a plan, what's another 25? Seriously, this is incredible. Is every industry going to come to WDC begging now? I think every executive in every company/institution that gets a handout needs to be fired. And I'd like to see an accounting for every penny that Congress hands out.

if we gave every citizen of the U.S. $100,000, I think we'd still end up ahead. I'm sure all of us would pay off our debts, and then pump plenty more back into the economy. That might work better than what they are doing now. It's incredibly galling to see what's going on.

I think it ought to be a prerequisite that, if a company gets some of the bailout, the management that put them in the poor condition needs to go. Won't ever happen, but it should. It's getting ridiculous to see another industry come begging for a piece of the bailout pie.

I'd love to have an itty bitty piece of that pie to pay off my own bills and have a little left over to buy some Christmas presents. But it looks like it's gonna be a very lean holiday this year for a whole lot of folks!

Give every family enough money to buy a new U S made car. We get free cars, the auto industry gets back to work and is profitable, everyone is happy.

This bailout shit is giving me the creeps.

I've never witnessed so many industries coming with their hands out before! It's sickening and it's scares the shit out of me, too. Reminds me of the ants & the grasshopper fable. Unfortunately, most of us ants are gonna get stomped by these grasshoppers!

[> [> omg, i LOVE THAT! i prefer foreign cars, especially german but i would -- ozzie has a us made truck also, 14:58:40 11/21/08 Fri [1]

buy an american car if it helped people out. this whole bailout business is nuts. what happened to personal responsibility? i realize many were duped by the mortgage people but they told my hubby and me that we could afford DOUBLE what we spent on our current home. i remember looking at the hubby and shaking my head that these people are nuts and how crazy is it if they are telling others and how some would believe it. i can so understand how it could happen. my american made truck stranded me about 2 weeks ago and i ended up walking home, about 6 miles after running 3 miles at the gym. i kept thinking to myself that i wanted a bailout to buy a new truck! :)

My 14 year old car has developed some problems we cannot afford to fix. I love my car, it is exactly the right size for our family and while it isn't fancy it is perfect for our needs.

Too bad it won't go over 50 w/o smoking.

A new car for us would be a huge benefit and if it helped rescue the car industry then even better.

But I won't buy a Chrysler because Bob Nardelli is the CEO and after the way he ruined Home Depot it's frickin' amazing ANYONE would have given him a job. They deserve to go under just for hiring him.

[> [> [> [> i'm still drivin my '95 Saturn -- jayjay, 02:04:00 11/23/08 Sun [1]

it needs $700 of new brakes and tires. jeminy. but it's 2500 short of 100,000 miles.

nevermind that the cloth ceiling is coming detached from the headliner. i found some real big thumb tacks at the fabric store, called quilter's tacks. I've given the headliner a real cool retro look think james dean for $1.76.

i'm sure it's bluebook value is less than $700.

but it gets 35 mpg. remember when bill clinton was president and saturn was the shining star of the GM corp? took the blueprints from japan and built a company in tennessee that made affordable, reliable, fuel efficient cars. american made. what happened?

oh yeah. george bush.

I remember when Bill Clinton was president. I was only in my early forties, not mid-fifties. I felt better, looked better and was 20 pounds lighter. Damn George Bush!

she's lost a small fortune on her ford and gm stock.

when i found out about it i scolded her on how could she possibly invest in american cars?

she said she just left it up to her broker, Merle Lynch, and it was doin fine 15 years ago.

choke choke. but mommmmm, haven't you noticed in the last 15 years that SUVs are over?

nope, too busy to notice. her 60K is now worth a dollar a share.

tweekin.

I wish I still had my 6 cyl. SUV or minivan. and plan on trading in my rinkydink little 4 cyl. car for one or the other next year! I've hated riding that close to the ground the past few ;-P

damned interior cloth stuff is coming loose. Guess I'll need tacks too. I can't afford a new car just yet. The Saturn has so many little problems, some are fixable, but it's really starting to show its age.

i took her in for regular maintenance service, and asked them to check her brakes.

sure nuff back brake hydrolics were leakin and baby needs new shoes. said it be $480. well i went down the street to get new tires, they also do brakes, and they said they'd charge me $150 to fix the brakes. i couldn't believe it. that saved me over $300.

blew my world. i always thought Saturn was the honest branch of GM. just goes to show you can't trust anybody, not even car's baby daddy.

oh dig this, i got a letter in the mail today from Circuit City. wanting me to expand the warranty on the Vizio i bought a year ago. bwahhhahhaaahaa. ok. here's a hundred dollars and in 5 years you're address will be where?
