Subject: I just got off the phone with my Senator's office

They weren't calling to influence my vote, an actual person from Sen Claire McCaskill's office called to say the Senator had heard my cousin and I were catering sweets for the Dem watch party tomorrow night. The Senator's words were quoted to me as "but what about the Swedish Meatballs and Beef Stroganoff we had at the last function?". I made the stroganoff last time so that was very nice to hear.

We've gone from cookies, brownies and gooey butter cakes for 600 to Swedish Meatballs, chili, Beef Stroganoff, hot weinies and veggie trays for 600.

She had another interesting message to pass along. We provided the sweets for the national press corp at Obama's visit Saturday and he had a piece of our gooey butter cake. His words were "where has this been all my life?". LOL

You know, I was looking through my recipe box recently, saw the recipe for Gooey Butter Cake and wondered where the heck that came from. Thanks for solving the mystery! ;-)
