What I like about this board is that I can disagree with Jeannine or Muppetmel or whomever, and I can know that they will treat me respectfully. Just because Jeannine is pro-life doesn't mean she's a bad person, and I hope (and sense) that she doesn't think I'm a bad person because I'm pro-choice.

What I dislike about this board is the lack of IP addresses. I think it encourages distasteful comments like yours because you can "hide".

I am an old friend of Nana's. I just finally got tired of Terry's negative attitude. Terry and Caren both hit below the belt repeatedly but get away with it. Terry brags about smoking pot which is against the law not to mention morally how wrong it is with children in the house. But yet she finds fault with anyone that doesnt agree with her or think like she does. You guys can have at it. Now I know why Nana quit posting. God rest her soul.

it may seem that way, but they don't. Most people just don't want to stir up trouble and say things that are better left unsaid. Things have been said here that I strongly disapprove of, but I have learned that non-comments sometimes speak loudest (and don't ignite board wars!).

I guess I try to keep in mind that we don't REALLY know each other at all, we just know a little slice of the people we post with.

It's nice to meet you. I have no idea who you are but thanks for sharing.

Now please excuse me, I have to get to the Fit Club to pick up my poor abused and neglected children from ballet and Kung Fu and hustle them home for a healthy dinner of baked chicken, spinach and pasta then later there will be some one-on-one homework time. After that I will be supervising their bath time and getting them to bed at a decent hour so they can be up early for school in the morning.

Then I'll probably call my fabulously successful oldest child and make sure he's doing ok; even though he's an adult we're still very close and I like to make sure he's eating right and getting to bed at a decent hour even though he is studying for his GRE in physics next month. He still wants to get into grad school, you know.

and get a ticket, YOUR kids will suffer. And if you drink too much, your kids will suffer. And your kids probably are suffering from having an extrememly judgemental mother.

Sounds like someone just felt like attacking for no good reason except maybe some long-held, irrational personal grudge. Hmmm. A unilateral decision to attack for something completely irrelevant. Maybe that DOES sound vaguely, familiarly political (not to mention WRONG).

I don't know why I'm typing this, but I will never understand why people feel the need to judge others. If you don't agree with someone's opinions or decisions, that's ok. You don't have to call them a bad person or berate them. Life is hard enough and usually time will tell re what the right thing to do is or was.

Except that to quote someone else, I just calls it like I see it. What I wrote didn't have much to do with your specific situation. I get cranky anytime the judgmental and self-righteous come out of the woodwork regardless of where it's directed.

anyway, McC is soooo proud of the Bush record that you won't catch him saying "Bush" even once. He doesn't even refer to his party by name. He alwyas says "I" and only "I" as if he could even do what he says he would, NOT!

BTW, pot should be legalized, and all drugs too, this way, they could be sold as controlled substances that could be taxed by the government. That way there wouldn't be a criminal underground. The rate of crime would drop. I wish there was a gov't brave enough to do this. :-/
