I found that quote. From an article in The Toronto Star, which has more USA electoral coverage than any newspaper I've read from the USA. Go figure, anyway...here's some of it from Mon. Oct. 20/08: Powell Gives Salute To Obama by Tim Harper.

...
But he said that he was most troubled by McCain's refusal to shut down senior Republicans who have suggested Obama is a Muslim.

"Well, the correct answer is, he is not a Muslim, he's a Christian." Powell said. "He's always been a Christian."

"But the really right answer is, what if he is? Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer's no, that's not America.

"Is there something wrong with some 7-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president?"

Powell then told the story of New Jersey-born Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, a 14-year-old boy at the time of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks who elisted in the military as soon as he could and died in Iraq serving his country...

It goes on, but I thought this part is the one that we've been discussing the most on this board: Obama's Christianity and misinfromation about it from the GOP.
