Subject: I admit it.....I will NOT be early voting!
The wait time is minimum 2-3 hours at the nearest early voting place. There are only 11 early voting venues in my county vs. 784 on Tuesday. I figure I'll be out on Tuesday certainly before 2-3 hours with the numbers that won't be there because they already early voted! Right?

You would think so. I did vote early, and I think it will begin to be the norm. We have had early voting for many years here in Texas. There was no line.
There is a radio guy, Mark Davis, that I listen to here in DFW who is dead set against early voting. His rationale is "what if" something happens that changes your mind - say that a huge story breaks and your mind changes. Interesting point, but in my mind, the same thing could happen the day after election day.

I voted early (Colo.) in 2004 at Safeway and waited about 45 minutes. Voted at the DMV this year and there was no wait. In 2006, there was no early voting and we waited 4!!!! hours.

I will be back at 7am to try again.
Otherwise I will be in line on Tuesday after work at my local polling spot (a church).
I did get 2 Obama bumper stickers and a new yard sign though. Woot!

Remember, too, that on election day, ALL the precincts will be open - right now there are just a handful in each county and they have to sort thru ballots for each precinct in the area they are serving. Probably won't be any lines on Tuesday!
I sent in my absentee ballot 2 weeks ago - amen for that option!!

Where I used to live the polling places were in schools (very cool for the students) or at city operated civic centers (like at the local park).
Here in Volusia they all seem to be in churches. And the Baptist Church where my precint votes has a big sign out front that says to vote YES on the hateful anti-gay marriage amendment, aka Amendment 2. I just drove past there and saw it. How can that be legal? It really pissed me off.
I wish I had time to get this on a t-shirt and wear it there on election day:
