1. She had a chance to get us universal health care and she got so caught up in the power of the situation that she ruined the only legitimate shot we ever had at insuring this country.

2. She was so cold when her husband was in the White House. My girlfriend worked for the DNC for a couple of years and we always were invited to the annual WH Carnival on the lawn. Mr. Clinton was so friendly, but she looked exceptionally uncomfortable. The bf notes that this was around the Monica Era and Hillary was probably uncomfortable because the thought of holding her husband's hand made her want to ralph, which is entirely possible but it alienated me nonetheless.

3. I saw Obama speak in person when I first moved to Denver in August of 2008. He was stumping for our clownish Senator Ken Salazar and he was one of the most inspiring and articulate people I've ever seen.

You have reasons and you can articulate them.

You are, unfortunately, in the minority. The majority of Hillary haters can't or won't say why they hate her, they just do.

That being said, I don't have a problem with the president being unemotional or "cold". And I have always respected Hillary Clinton, even during the Lewinsky affair. I could not have put my personal feelings aside in that situation the way she obviously did.

I have listened to Obama but have not had the chance to see him in person. I don't dislike his politics but I don't think the hateful rednecks in this country are any more ready for a black man in the white house than they are ready for a woman. Either of these brilliant people will be targeted for who they are if they are elected.

It is a sad state of affairs but it is what we are - a nation of bigots and misogynists.

Lesson learned: don't type when you have a few glasses of wine in you.

1. My girlfriend worked for the DCCC, not the DNC.

2. We moved in 2004, not 2008.

Sadly, I agree that there are still too many bigots and misogynists. The only thing we can do is to stay aware and to stay active. It doesn't have to be this way forever.

Dem. Convention on TV back during John Kerry's run, this man was speaking and he was incredible. I'd never heard of him before. Who is this Barack Obama? Why isn't he running for president??? I'd vote for him. Well, now he is! I am not one to be inspired by a politician at all, but I never forgot how his speech made me feel. It moved me.
