Either of these two B&Bs is great. They are not cheap, but they are palatial mansions with well appointed rooms. The Inn - the former Morgan Jones House at the corner of Allen and , is the more architecturally interesting, and the guys who run it, - Windle Davis and Dini Lamot, formerly of the Hudson River Theater - put on a great breakfacts.

A little less pricey - and less luxurious, but peaceful and pretty in a more modest way - is the Union Street Guest house in the 500 block of Union. Also a nice, convenient place to stay.
