Subject: Not sure if you still need help but...If your strips of fabric are gathered tightly enough onto the lining then you should get a good curl. 30# fishing line is what I use and I don't do the boiling thing. I just prefer the bigger "loops" to the small. You curl will happen when you slightly stretch the fabric as you roll hem or serge. Bias means on the diagonal ( the fabric has more stretch) but I just use a strip all the way up the yardage left after my circles are cut. I get plenty of curl because I gather it tightly with my ruffler foot before sewing it onto the lining. HTH
