1. I think his deal was faustian because in order to make a deal he would have to have given something up. In this case it seems that he gave up his youth and his soul for the ability to play the guitar.
2.Hoodoo is a west African form of commonly known Voodoo. i believe that this plays a major role in this story because he probably incorporated several superstitions into his story.
3. yes because i have seen first hand that it is always necessary to make sacrifices if you want to be successful. i have seen this first hand and all REAL musicians go through this struggle to make their music and identity heard.
4. i would definately be waiting for the oppurtunity to play in Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. check 'em out
