1. Yes his deal with the devil was faustian. There could be many reasons why he became such a good giutar player within the year or two he was believed to be missing. He could have practiced alot and listened to other blues musicians and dervived his own sound from previous works. Or he could have been taught by another musician.

2. Hoodoo is some sort of folk magic. It fits into Robert Johnson's music because people believed he met with the Devil and the crossroads and magically became a guitar/blues legend.

3. Yes, i believe the tale of Robert Johnson and the crossroads is a metaphor for all kinds of musicians. Aspiring musicians are willing to sell their soul to the devil if that is the cost to make it big and gain fame, women, etc. Successful musicians already have sold their souls to the devil because at one time they were aspiring musicians looking to be succesfull too.

4. I would wait at the crossroads to be the greatest pitcher of all time in major league history.
