1.) Yes, because a faustian deal is characterized as a deal with the devil for material gain, where the participant gives up his soul, and is "Chased" by the devil for the rest of his life.
2.) Hoodoo is often used in African-American vernacular to describe a magic spell or potion, or as a descriptor for a practitioner. This correlates with Robert Johnson's music because he was influenced by old Creole work songs and the Mississippi Delta Hoodoo. He uses Hoodoo encoded lyrics. References to the "mojo hand," the "crossroads," the "stones in his passway," and the "Devil" all speak volumes in Hoodoo lore.
3.)The story of Robert Johnson is legendary. His rise and fall came very quickly, which in itself is very rock and roll. Also it seems that today an artist needs to conform a little to hit it big. They have to sell a but of themselves for fame. Finally, Robert Johnson symbolizes the pain of an artist. He sings about what he knows.
4.) I would wait at the crossroads to become a Lion.
