1. I would have to say that Robert Johnson's Deal with the devil was a faustian one as most deals with the devil are. A faustian deal ussually consists of trading something of long term value for short term happiness fame or knowledge. Robert trades his soul to the devil to have his guiter tuned which ensured him success in his musical career. This is the essence of every faustian deal with the devil.

2. Hoodoo is a type of magic from African American roots. Robert turned to this mix of American and African culture when his family died. It was a major part of his life at this time. Common Hoodoo voodoo words are added into his lyrics to give them a powerful message.

3. Robert Johnson's tale of becoming an aspiring musician is not a metaphor for every musician. He made sacrifices but not everyone sacrifices stuff to become what they want. He died at a young age and only recorded 29 songs and most artists change over time while he stayed true to himself. Most artists these days only make music that will make him money.

4. I would wait at the crossroads for infinite knowledge.
