My parents went to CPO earlier in the year and were conned into buying a timeshare. Luckily the day they returned I found this (and many other) site and advised them not to go ahead. We immediately set to work putting a letter together which after a phone call on the freephone number where we were told there was no cooling off period we sent by recorded international post and also faxed direct to portugal, and e-mailed to them aswell (we weren't taking any chances).

We have received through the post details of someone else's contract with a letter adressed to us telling us that we have to make arrangements to pay.

Unfortunately, we lost our credit cards the day we flew home and so cancelled them and because CPO hadn't claimed any money we haven't paid anything.

We have just received a phone call telling us that they are taking us to court on 10th July and that we will have to appear. Obviously we are hoping this is part of their scare tactics but can anyone give us advice about whether this is likely to happen?

We are a little bit nervous even though the girl tonight after telling us that we had no cooling off period because we bought a resale then admitted that we had bought a timeshare! We were quite confident until now but it all seems a bit scary now they are really talking about court dates.
