Ya know that feeling you get when you are singing along to your favorite song, either while drivine, taking a shower or humming during the day? Well, we all know that special little ditty that makes us smile..we know every word, we feel every nuance of emotions that comes with the song and we usually can associate to some aspect of our lives. Well, I'm no different. Nope..No Sirreee Bob!~

Tonight I went out with my friend to the bar (her birthday is tomorrow and I won't see her) so we hung out, had a couple, sang along with the band and enjoyed ourselves. Dance a little bit and shared in the laughter and joy.

After the band finished playing tonight, the lead singer, came to sit with us for a bit, and the jukebox was playing, so I was singing along. He turns to me and says, You have a good voice. One of the other gentlemen at the table says, Yep..her Mamma sings too, you should hear her too!

So the lead singer says...Ok..You've got to get up there and sing a number next week!!! I'm like..HELLO...I'm a chair singer..I sit in my chair and sing along! You put me up there, you better prepare yourself to pick me up off the floor, because that's where you'll find me! LOL

He's like...NOPE..I'm not kidding, get a song ready for next week. So, I guess I won't be coming next week, I lean over and tell him. He's like...Ya know, you really have to start somewhere...Oh yeah..I started somewhere already..In my car, in my shower, in my chair, but honey you won't catch me up there! LOL

The thing is, he meant it and I don't know how to get out of it! LOL So...tell me, I love all kinds of songs, I like singing, and generally is good for my soul! But THIS...this might be the death of me yet! LOL

HELP! OMG...I'm soooo freaked out...I cannot do this..how do I get out of it? I enjoy going there with her..but I am in no way gonna get up on stage, hold a mic and sing, and make and ass out of me! LOL Maybe if they suit me up with a few rounds of tequila..MAYBE.....hmmmm...Maybe NOT!

So, for those that have done this..how the hell did you do it for the first time and what was it like? How scary is it?? I really need to know.

Ok..I'm done...Help!

Hugs and love,
Tammy

Tammy,
Being scared only holds you back from trying something you might enjoy! Find a song that fits your range and ROCK it! All the people watching are going to be saying to each other "I could Never get up there" and admire your bravery. If someone who knows music says you have a great voice, all you have to add is verve, and once you get going, I'm sure you won't be scared. You might find you're a closet Karoke Queen!

Just go do it, girl!

Rock the joint!

I'll be looking for updates!!!!!!

(((Jess)))

You wonderful soul you! Thanks for the vote of confidence. I guess I would love to try it deep down, but the fear is overpowering me at the moment. And I'm at home thinking about it, can you just imagine my nerves on that night! OMG

I have thought of a couple of songs that I know the lyrics well enough to and it is pretty much in my range, sooo...I guess I'll take this week and practice, and if I get the nerve, I'll try it...AND for sure, I will update you here.

This is sooo exciting and scary for me. Thank you again love!

Hugs,
Tammy

I really hope you do it Tammy, look at the back wall, or something far beyond the crowd, and sing the song to it like it's the person you're singing the song to... seriously..
just from what i've heard ;)

Well, I've never done it so I can't help you there but,
I can tell you that your fears are ruling your day
and that makes you a whimp.

So, take that!

You can't be a whimp. Don't ask why, don't try
explaining it just go with this:

If the people want you to sing then Sind dammit!

If they want you to get naked come talk to me
we'll have to see how much they're offering.

Always a treat to travel with you but, if you don't
get up there and sing then don't blame me five
years from now when I am still calling out,

"Hey Whimpy, What's happening!"

do da do da

Thanks Lily...I will keep that all in mind...

AND...

"Tammeridians" LOL ROFLMAO!Yeah Ok..Mr. Inconspicuous...I will decide by Thursday..or maybe Friday LOL...I have three exams this week, so I won't be concentrating on singing much, more like number crunching! LOL

But, if someone asks me to get nekked...well, I don't think I'll be needing a PR manager! LOL LOL

Ok ok...going now..but will think it over seriously.

Hugs and love,
Tammy aka "The Real Tammy"

I remember this old TV show where they used to have three guests on and you had to figure out which guy or girl was the one they were talking about. Three burnt-out, used to be half-famous contestents got to ask some quick questions and then in the end they had to guess which one was the real " whatever " at the time.

So here we are:

Our guest tonight is a North American Native Mixed blood
Canadian who enjoys writing poetry, practicing witchcraft,
and driving andy crazy. She is a proud Mother of six children and a devout and loyal friend. What brings her here tonight is she once agreed to sing on stage with a band despite being extremely reluctant to do so. After much thought and advice she got up her nerve and took the stage. It was right at that moment that the great Canadian earthquake began. As she sang the room split in two. One side ended up becoming a foster home for misguided poets of the Upper Peninsula of Missedagain and the other side is now know as Niagra Falls. Can you guess which one of these three women is the real Tammeridians?

Hey isn't Celeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnne Dijon mustard from Canada? Bet ya Neil Young really loves her a lot huh?

~Tammy~

I will tell you (what the Andiferous Splendiferous doesn't) - it IS scary to sing in front of people. You have a mic and music...ground yourself into the music (and you know what I mean by that - think ritual grounding...it works) and then let your voice take flight.

Pretend you're sitting in your chair, look out beyond people's heads to the farthest wall and imagine someone there you'd want to sing to (a friend, a lover, a family member, a child - someone that is comfortable and accepts your voice) and just belt it out to them. Even if people are looking at you, they can't see the gift of your voice until you lay it all over them. And sing with everything you have...let it all out. Don't let go of the music thread until you are ready to....*grins*

I have faith in you, Tammy...I believe you can do this.

Well, truth be known, that particular weekend was when we had that enormous snowfall, and the show was cancelled, then the club was closed for two weeks, so I haven't done anything yet. But, I will fill you in as soon as I know. LOL

So take that! LOL
