] Date Posted: 15:15:42 12/16/07 Sun OMG...you should see out my window....the snow has been coming down since last night, and we've recieved about 25cm or 2 feet..and more is on its way!!! Now if that old Christmas Carol is correct, it is now singing..."Let it snow! Let it snow!...Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire (I wish) is so delightful, and if you've no place to go....Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!" Yeah ok! The weather channel says a Thunder storm to boot on top of this. I sure hope we get through this, and I'm almost certain we are going to have another snow day for school. The problem is...I wanted to go in, because we only have so many days for this module and we've already lost two at the end of this week coming, for the school's move to the new wing. This means we are going to fall behind. My daughter is in the middle of exams too...so I don't know how they will handle the shift in scheduling. In the meantime, my balcony, since I live on the basement level of the apartment complex, is beginning to resemble a mini ski hill! The dog just went out and was a little perplexed as to where the stairs have gone! LOL He kind of looked back at us like, "Ok..so now what do I do?" Eventually he found his way up climbing the huge snow drifts. LOL It's been quite the winter already, in comparison to last year, when we had a green Christmas, and the snow only fell mid-January. This year, we are making up for last year I think. The weatherman said it's the worst storm in 60 years. Back in 1970 we had a similar snow storm in March. And my aunt went into labor for her son. The road were impassable, and so my uncle fired up the ski-do and bundle a big quilt around her, and had someone with a tractor waiting by the highway. He made his way with his labouring wife to that tractor, and then they proceedd to hospital via the tractor. My cousin "Stormy" was born later that evening. Hence his unique and wonderful name! LOL Ok..so I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to do with myself. The kids are playing, mom is uncomfortable with being alone, and I have no way of getting there, not that I would attempt a drive with my kids out there, but I feel bad for her. My friend is feeling claustrophobic sitting in her house. Her car abandoned down her road, as they haven't plowed her street yet, so she's literally "stuck". Since I have no place to go for a bit, and we are still expecting to reach about 50 cm or almost 4 feet of snow, I will be around, back and forth this evening, as I can. Hope everyone is enjoying their evening. Much love to you all....let it snow! let it snow! ~Tammy [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
