It's all about finding answers on how to better manage a common chronic disease that one of her family members in infliceted with. My brother has the same disease but, with less complications than her family member so she is seeking more information which can only lead to improved management of the disease. Be Safe Shalah! Oh, and one more thing! Since you are going to AlberQuacky can you do me a favor and look for that rout 66 Diner Sign above. I would like you to bring a big monkey wrench and retrieve the sign for me. You can mail it UPS. You have the address its the same one you used to send me my Teddy Bear. Have a safe trip and keep a smile on your pretty face. Love ya, andy [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 20:51:03 11/07/07 Wed Hi all! Here I am sitting about 2 blocks from the Route 66 Diner... and I am clearly able to log on, so thought I'd post a bit more explanation since I seemed vague earlier, unintentionally. My oldest son, Justus, lives with Type 1 Diabetes. He is also in the midst of adolescence. The two are bad partners. And in his case, he is an extreme of every scenario thus far. We've been struggling with keeping his blood sugar levels in a good range for months now really, with no logical explanation. We know the drill on diet, insulin therapy, he has a pump, all the things that are supposed to help fine tune this balance. Recently, we have spent far too much time in the ER with an IV to get him back into livable range. So... after a pretty big scare last week, we decided we just had to get agressive and really push for further tests, closer management, etc. Something. We have to protect him from long term damage as best we can. My middle son, Austin, was scheduled to be here in Albuquerque, where Justus' specialist is, for a sleep study of his own... trying to work out a few managable problems he has. Soooo... I decided to bring Justus, camp out at his Endocrinologist's office and get some help on answers for Justus while we were here. It's a 5 hour drive one way from where we live, so we may as well make it count. You know, 2 birds, 1 stone. So, here we are. Settled into our motel room, with a borrowed laptop, and anxious to get some answers while we're here! Thanks for your well wishes! I'll keep you all posted. *hugs to all* |
