it's always a comfort to me to know that someone else, understands how huge these little steps and milestones are. In the past year J has made such huge steps forward - and with new doors opening to him he is proving himself to the powers that be (the education system). His artwork is special, his carving teacher and the Kaumatua (Maori Elder) believe he has a gift. And then there is his guitar - he fast impresses other guitarists with the speed at which he is learns, and his natural ability, and passion for it...and it just warmed my heart so much when J told me recently that the guitar is his passion. It was so cool to hear that my boy has a passion - it really has changed him in wonderful ways - the thing that I love is how it calms him down when he plays...and he recognizes that fact.

*sigh* I could go on and on...but I guess that's part of being a parent...lol.
