Looking out my window here I can see forever.
Sounds like a cliche huh,well, the truth
is I can see forever.

In the first dimension there are trees
who's leaves are offering autumn's vast
array of colors for my viewing pleasure.
While above the trees a pale blue sky
void of clouds drapes my world.

At first glance a child would be sure
that what they were looking at was some
kind of canopy. A one dimensional ceiling
of sorts. We know differently.

The sky is forever, or as far as we know
forever to be. I wonder how we would
feel if the content of the air changed
enough to turn the sky hunter green?

There are times when you can see purple,
yellow, orange, and even red but, I never
have seen a green sky.

Today though, the sky is blue and beautiful.
As I sit here typing I feel as if the earth
is calling me outside. I am one who works
off of these types of feelings (yes, impulse
has been both a blessing and a curse) so I am
about to go out for a little walk on this
gorgeous day.

While I'm walking I will be thinking about
how lucky I am to be alive. How great it
is to be surrounded by such wonder but,
most of all I will be humbled by the way
a branch bends or the way the cattails
bleed their cottony seeds into the air.

We surely are a part of everything and
it's best that we remind ourselves
just that each day.

Soon I will breathe the clean New York
State country air and thank my God for
the free gifts the earth offers us
just beyond a window pane.

and that should be enough for any man........
especially a man like me.
