] Date Posted: 10:07:39 11/10/07 Sat  Docile has become this life .... as I looked up to the heavens today I saw the clouds ... ominous and black as coal ... and I marveled at how even the promise of rain fails to stir this slumbering soul ... Empty ... I never knew a heart could feel so barren ... how a life once lived so passionately could just drift into sleep ... as a child rocked in the arms of love ... I have been swayed peacefully ... yet such sadness dwells in these lullabies that soothe ... My spirit has stopped fighting as resigned I have become ... weary am I from loving so intently ... from surrendering all that I am ... left to gather the pieces that remain ... In complacency I drift here ... no longer concerned if your eyes see me falter ... I worry not if you smile upon my pain ... it doesn't matter as it should ... for when nothing remains there is nothing to feel ... ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ I looked to the heavens today and I thought of you ... as I closed my eyes I felt you in the distant sound of thunder ... in the wind that tenderly carressed my skin ... and I breathed deeply to hold back the tears ... not willing to relenquish them once again to you ... my trembling hand upon my heart .... one breath ... two ... and I felt within my reach this welcome reprieve from needing you ... from loving you ... close enough to grasp ... to hold ... but then ... the rain came © SLS 2007 [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
