Vortex of emotions

Sometimes I
find myself
amidst a world
of tears,
in a vortex
of emotions,
erupting
from the core.

Like
seeping lava,
the tears
overflow,
painting my soul
with a residue
of desolation,
agony and despair.

Everything turns gray
before I can
even comprehend
what's happening,
before I even realize
that life is
nothing more than
a black and white world.

But then
the vortex slows,
and the tears
subside,
yet the storm
continues within,
where eyes
cannot see.

And nothing's
okay,
nothing's okay
until the next day,
when the sun
rises again,
when light
defeats the dark.

Only sometimes
the sun never rises,
the light never shines,
the dark grows stronger
and the tears
forever flow,
today is
one of those days.

The powerful vortex
threatens me again,
of emotions,
of tears,
ready to erupt
from the very
core of me,
...my heart.

Janel,

This sits fine with me after reading you
in the parlour this morning.

I like this room for what it is.

I love your honest and sincere
and yes, struggling voice.

I just love you period.

The only way to the light is through the darkness.

Sometimes it's a long journey but the longest
of struggles often times lead to the greatest
rewards.
