Walking the White Line

That sleazy smirk
Lays long and wide
across my rear vision,
just another dirty speck
trying to shine
on a low rent horizon

your stagnant breath
haunts the ruins
of that over crowded box
you call home...
how can you grow
with barely enough room
to swing a cat?

no clocks tick, there
as time is too busy
laughing�
and I, am ear to ear
in the best medicine,
as the black of It, weeps
against the rising sun
and falls angry
from the sky

sucking the steam
from open backs,
drowning
in the flood
of Its own lies
while poetry
smiles the front row

It struggles
to eat my dust
just for one more taste, but
my last-laugh moment
is locked and loaded
as the thunder sky chokes

and I, walk the white line
and all spaces between,
with shadow as skin,
the wind at my back,
and the sun in my face
