Reaching Through the Veil

It was
in my first
bare footfall
to the cool
dampened earth
that I felt you�

in that first kiss
of moisture
that fell from the aching sky
and named me
rain child
that I drew you, as breath�

it was
in the tingled dance
of a gentle breeze
upon my beckoning skin
that I heard you�

and as the veil thinned
you wakened me
from dream
bestowed your gift
and my eyes beheld�

your voice
speaks through me
in ink
and soul
and I feel blessed�

as you reach
to this child of the moon
you touch my voice
bathe my words
and you show me
who I am

and I am loved
