I fell in love with Michael Landon when I was juat a teenager. Watching Bonanza, Little House & Highway to Heaven. When I got older & married, My first born was a son, I named Michael. My oldest daughter 's name is Alisha (I got that name off of Little house- Mr. Edwards adopted child). I have most of the movies of Little House. So my grandchildren came up loving Michael Landon too. No one could ever replace Michael, he was so kind & his stories were just great. I have cried many a tear watching his shows. He will never be forgotten! Thanks for the memories.

In 1995 I stated in here about my fealings of loss and regret, of not meating the one I wish I could have meet. But fealing like i'm in a well, with the tears that fall now and again. I'm not too shoure what to do, with the water rising higher and higher still. But I do know that the pain I feal, will never go away. But it is somthing I will have to bare with, until I get to the high way and to hevens above that leads to the one that can help me still. Until then I still have hope that, maybe someone will understand and talk to me someday still. Until then you may find me in the well of sorrow still.

I, too, like many of you, grew up watching Bonanza, Little House and Highway to Heaven. Little House was my favorite. I think I have all the episodes he made...minus 1 or 2. My favorite is the Creeper of Walnut Grove and The last farewell. Michael has been missed by not only myself, but my kids who also grew up watching Little House on the Prairie.

i hurt so bad when that sad august day came and we heard the news that little joe and charles ingalls or pa ingalls for those of us who call him that i remeber i would sit crossed leg in our den in front of the t.v back in 74-75 we had a console tv big deal for our family.. and sit so intense into watching what pa was going to to help and serve the neighbors of walnuut grove but i always loved the fiddle that pa played and how much everyone loved to hear it for me it never has gotton old or boring its just a good show with a great leading man micheal landon god is with you now.. thank you for 30years of non stop fun micheal landon... melody h.3-20-2009...

Im sorry for my bad english (im italian), but i wanto to say Michael Landon have a strong influenc in my life: my real father beat me and my mom sometimes in 80s and when in tv i watch Charles Ingalls character, i dream to have Michael for a Dad.In the 45 minutes of every episode i can escape from bad reality and dream to be in the another family with love and understanding.
I dont want remember Michael with tears, but with gratefulness and love for great lessons he give to me.Goodbye Michael i love you forever.I never forget you.

I just watched the program that Micheal Jr made about his relationship with his Father. It's something I wouldn't have done especially after Micheal Sr last Wife begged him not to. I miss Micheal Landon and I wish he was here today. I wonder what he would be doing. Thank-you Micheal for giving me a great program such as the Little House On The Prairie. I grew up with all the characters on the show and seen them all at least 10 times. I wish there were more!! I miss you Micheal and I hope your heart and soul lives on forever.

So i guess im not the only one who throught michael landon was a legend?! I dont really know what to say! I grew up watching 'Little house on the prairie' every sunday in the afternoon just before sunday roast. It totally shocked me when i found out that the man i had admired as a family man (even though it was a t.v program) had died of pancreas cancer. My dad died too 8 years ago of the awful disease. It was 3 weeks before my 18th. And as i researched it, it amazed me so much as how fast it got to people. So sorry so I just want you to all know that even people in a little place of leatherhead, surrey UK totally remember you Dad/ husband and think hes a complete legend and always will. I send my love to you all as I know its not easy, even now - you just cope right?! xxx

I grew up watching him in Bonanza and Little House on the prairie. I miss his acting and producing quality tv shows. He never done anything that had the volience in the show as so many shows on television and movie screen does today. Im glad his son is producing shows of quality.

I grew up with John Wayne, Michael Landon, Jimmy Stewart Elvis, and many great acters. One thing i have learned is that they all effect our lives and how we grow up and the way we grow up. We do not need to here the bad in there lives because we have enough problems in our own lives. Some of us need heros that even if only on t.v. show us a little love and feelings.

Michael Landon personified on screen the ideal 'man', in that Little House and Highway portrayed him as gentle,kind,loving,forgiving etc,etc,... but alas that was celuoid fantasy. In real life he drank, and smoked heavily, had 2 or 3 failed marriages and even in his will did not divide his estate equally between all his children, causing some resentment after his death. He obviously did not lead the angelic life of his screen parts in thes 2 series. He was just an ordinary man, although talented actor/producer, with the same weaknesses as all the rest of us, so lets not put him on a pedestal!

I watched his shows since i was a lttle girl and way back then i would just wish i could be laura. He seemed to care and love his family so much (something i didnt have). I never had a male role model in my life so i used him as one. The day he died i felt like i had lost a part of my family. He is so missed but his teachings will continue to go on. May he rest in peace knowing he brought a sense of belonging to some children that really needed it. We love and miss you Michael

I grew up watching Bonanza as a kid and just watched an episode on cable. My wife and I had a discussion on whether or not Michael was Jewish. I knew he was so I had to prove it to her. In doing so I came upon this sight and just wanted to pay tribute to a fine actor and a wonderful person. Michael rest in peace. I remember when i was watching little house on the prairie,i was very young and i always said to myself that i wish that Charles Ingalls would be my father because to me he was the best,he was always there for his daughters and Michael Landon was so wonderfull in that role,when he passed away 16 years ago in 1991 i was only 16 years old and i remember that i cried because i love him so much and still today i watch the reruns and i love watching that show over and over again,we will never forget you Michael Landon,you are the best and always will be

I grew up to little house with my 2 older sister's,We never missed an episode.I'm alot older now and i still dont miss an episode!I remember the day michael passed away and will never forget his last interview on tv telling the world he had cancer, and that he was terminal.He is forever missed.

Now that his life is over...it may be time to look at his life...
What did he do and what can be learned from it...
He proclaimed right living, at a time that he was doing the opposite...
How much is the individual responsible and how much is the corporate life responsible?
In the religious world, Jimmy Swarrad (sp) did the same thing...
Now, perhaps it is for the academic people to show up and see what can be learned in order to prevent this from happening to someone else...

I have sense fondly remembered my feelings every time i see a re-run of him in all his shows. Now his daughter has grown up and is starring in AS THE WORLD TURNS as Gwen.. oh yea she has talent too.

I grew up on Michael Landon made productions. My Mom raised me on them. Her fav was always Little house. She was raised a country girl herself. I see Mr. Landon as a christian type of showman. His shows do encourage one to live right with morals and witts.

on sunday evenings my sister and myself and my grandparents had tea early so we could watch disneyland then after that show we would watch bonanza hoss, little joe, ben, adam, this was the cartwright family and I still watch the show on foxtel and still enjoy it now as then thankyou micheal for the memories. i watched a adventure movie in the 80`s i think, and cant find it again, i think M.L was in it.
It was a bout a family that goes on a trip in alaska by sailing boat (where they sing : what shall we do to the drunken sailor), and somehow they end up on a island and they fight a grizzly bear.

I was wondering if this movie starring M.L. would ever be released on VHS or DVD. I recorded it off the tv years ago. It is a wonderful, wonderful movie. I watch it about every 4 or 5 months. One of the best movies ever made, I do believe. If you are a M.L. fan and have not seen this movie you have missed a beautiful, moving movie. Just wish it was released for sale so I could buy a couple of them.

To me Michael Landon was and is the most inspiring entertainer, i even called my son after him, that is, almost: Michael Brandon. We have two full seasons of A Little House on the Prairie on DVD and my wife and I are watching an episode every night, it gives me energy for the next day,believe it or not!
Wonderful that this man has more admirers, he deserved it, to me he'll always be a hero...

Being only 16, I wasn't around when he died, i don't think i was anyway. but i still love him and i would always watch lil house on prarie just because of him. he was such a people person which i fell in love with right away.
who played almonzo anyway? if anybody knows, do tell. he was cute, too.
anyways, michael landon was always the best and i love little joe on bonanza. chow for now.

I sadly miss Michael Landon and will always miss him. He was my favorite of all time. No one was a better person. He had a marvelous outlook and was totally different from other famous people. He never forgot he was human and he never forgot who gave him life.
I know that he is with God now. And I hope that he is looking down seeing how many of us even after all these years remember him love him and keep him alive in our hearts.

A true portray of how a man should value his- family, friends, dreams, hopes, failures,and achievments! There could of not been a better actor for this role as Charles Ingalls,Michael Landon portrayed what a perfect world would be like.It was very easy to find happiness and safety in that!He touched my life,when my father was not in my life,as a young child. I also saw my grandfather "POP" in his role on "Little House on the Prairie". Michael Landon AKA "Pa",Charles Ingalls, will always hold a special place in my heart. I now enjoy owning all the seasons of Little House, and watching them from time to time with my young children and husband.

Does anyone know if this M.L. movie was ever published on tape or DVD? I have it recorded on vhs from many years ago (I think it was put out in '91) but I would love to have it on DVD. I actually watched it just last night and it is a movie I NEVER tire of. For all M.L. fans who have not seen it, I highly recommend that you somehow find a copy to watch. I think it is his best work ever! Thanks for letting me put my 2 cents worth in!

Indeed, Michael Landon (Eugene Orowitz) was a cool, deep, and charasmatic person... Like all of us, he had his frailties too. He was known to sip the ale, and use other intoxicants as well. But none of us are 'perfect.' Michael's shortcomings, as well as his ability to reach people, are what made him so 'real.' As one writer put it earlier, TV really did go down hill fast after his passing. Most (80%) of the newer so called dramas are garbage with cash-flow the main goal.

I love Michael Landon as a person too.He was a very good men in the Little House on the Prairie, but I don't know if he was the same in real life becuase I never met him and I wish I could but its too late because he died when I was born.I read all of the books about Laura Ingalls Wilder and have all the seasons of the LHOTP.I think there is nowhere a better movie on the whole earth.I love

Actor Michael Landon is an inspiration to all young children. I love watch "Little House on the Prairie." Watching the series has encouraged me to write a story about Prairie life. I feel so uplifted when I watch him, because he gives so much encouragement and laughter as well as morals to many. It's sad that he had to die of cancer, but it's so unique that his series still lives as shown on TV Land and the Hallmark channels.

I believe he was quite a Javelin star. I just wondered which year he graduated and I think it was from where he grew up in Haddon Heights area, he went to Collingswood High I think. To this day, I watch every Little House on the Prairie everytime it is on. Of course, now that I am an adult I have to tape the episodes and watch them in my free time, but non the less I feel compelled to do this. It is mainly because of Michael Landon that I continue to watch this show. Have carried a crush since I was a little girl and how sad to know that I will never get a chance to meet or know this man that has been a part of my life for some 20 years or so.

14 years later and still there is a void in the world without him. Charles Ingalls was beyond a normal man. For the less familiar on the surface he seemed like a simple conservative father. A hard working man, he steered his children on the rightous path and "religously" attended church. But Mr. Ingalls was way beyond his time. He stood up for the "colored" children in town because it was the right thing to do. When his adopted son Albert had run away on the freight train he quickly went from displaying heartfelt Godly wisdom to defending his family from violent thugs on the train using his fists. The man was God and if he were around today he would stand up for the social injustices of the world.

I've watched Michael on tv since I was a little girl. Now I'm an adult & I still love him. I always knew in my heart he was a good man, even though I never met him in person. I love him & Lorne Greene always. I really love seeing them play together in Bonanza. I know they had a close friendship off stage too. I miss both of them.

At age 11 my dad abandoned me because he was having a midlife crisis. I would hungrily watch Laura and Pa interact on Little House because I so needed a loving father. The man and his life of faith, love and family were the seeds planted in my heart. When i became college age, i could hope in God and love ONLY because of the examples he gave me in the series, Little House. Because of Michael Landon, I became a believer in Jesus, received true peace and inner acceptance--Those of you who think Michael was only a "good man" and didn't receive Jesus and go to heaven, don't know the loving God I do. I read two of his children's books about his life and especially his last days on the earth. Clearly, he opened his heart and received the One he had heard of and believed in. His mother in law was a strong Christian whose godly influence and examples of faith in Christ were very influential to him, his daughter wrote of in the book,"I Promised Dad".
Thank You God, for giving us Michael for the short time you did. He led so many of us out of hopelessness to YOU. I am hopeful to meet him with You someday.

I grew up watching Little House On The Prairie and can relate to those who found Charles Ingalls to be the ideal father figure. Michael Landon played this role so beautifully in an era of absent fathers and I think the fact that it was set in the 1800s added to the romance of the "perfect family". I was overjoyed to rediscover Little House recently here in Australia on cable and it has become a part of my morning routine with my baby daughter. Michael Landon was an incredibly gifted actor and I'm amazed as an adult now to see how much he contributed to this tv series besides the acting! When did this man sleep?! Another thing that strikes me watching the series again is how handsome he is - I obviously didn't register this as a kid. Instead of envying the Laura Ingalls character now - it's Caroline!
Rest in peace Michael, your talent and integrity lives on.

I cant help feeling the way I do, I have a feeling of a lose that cant be filled. I'm trying not to, well cry. I always wanted to meet Landon, and every once in a while I get well overwhelmed. I think in one aspect it would be helpful if I ever got to talk to someone who meet him or well knew him. And I mean talked to him, and really know him. I asked David Dortort if I could write a bonanza story, and he said ya. I'm writing it, and it’s almost in the third or forth stage. Scripts are so easy, stories are harder. Now I would like to clarify something, the crying I'm doing is not the loss, but the missing, as in I never got to meet him sort of feeling. It’s hard to say how I feel, because well he was like a father figure to me. I just whish I was smarter and not such a chicken when I was in la, but then again would they have let me in. I know this is the second time, I wrote something. But the forlorn feeling is making me cry, so I may not be making any sense. But dadgumit I wish I could talk to someone who know him, I wish someone that know him would contact me. I have been watching bonanza, but watching High way to heaven is getting harder. Because I wish I could have meet him, so I gesso all I have is a dream. I was hoping someone who knew him, or was close to him would read one of these and contacted me. I'm sorta glad that you don't know how long its taking me, to type this up. The tough feelings of being lost and incomplete and forlorn are overwhelming and I do miss him. I like TV shows because he will always be around, in one way if not the other. If I may say this with out hearting anyone, I do talk to him. I know he cant hear me but it helps me in a way to get bye. I’m going to say something, that sound a little weird. I have a par of sneakers, and when I ware them I feel him near by so I ware them allot. I know, weird ha. When I'm scard and in dought i lift my head up and shout, Landon where are you. God how I wish I could have meet him, now with loss and forlorn. I'm sorry its so long, but I have to get my fealing out before I cry a river of tears after all If it turns in to a lake I'm in allot of trouble I can swim. Landon I do miss you, and that is no lie. I gess thats all for now, I so much wish I could have had the good fortune to meet him. If you knew him talk to me.

I've loved Michael Landon ever since I started watching Bonanza five years ago, he's my all time favorite actor, I LOVE him, when I found out he died, I balled my eyes out, I was so mad, I watch Bonanza, and Highway to Heaven everyday, I love him, and think he's the best actor ever, plus he's hot, and I just love him.

you can watch little house from 10am-12pm easteren time on the hallmark channel and i am not sure yet but there was a posting a tvland message board that possibly highway to heaven is coming in january sometime to tvland. i was born in 1982 so basically i seen little house as reruns but is a wonderful show, michael is/was a wonderful actor. the thing the shows taught, the morals and things. i am a born again christan. and highway to heaven was a wonderful show to so if i find out for sure if it is that is going to be on tvland i will comeback and post the time.

Micheal was and always will be a hero to me. What a great role model for any child growing up in the times we did. Now I find that I share something more in common with him than just a love for life and the belief that Angels are all around us. I too have Pancreas problems.
I have a debilitating disease that can cause Pancreatic Cancer, in fact just having the disease increases the likelyhood of my getting it by 20%. I don't drink or smoke however so that will help me in the long run. But you just never know what life will bring your way.
So I have a support group that I have started for folks that have pancreas problems. In the group you can gain education about this disease, and the organ itself. Links to medical facilities in our area, if we don't have them We will find them.

I am trying to locate a copy of the movie Where Pigeons Go to Die - The movie was filmed here in Kansas City, and I was fortunate enough to be invited to view some of the filming. I have some terrific pictures of Michael Landon during this filming and would love to have a copy of the movie, as well. It is a wonderful story and is truly a tribute to the promise he made as his Daughter, Cheryl was in the hospital. He was a very special man!!
