.

This is a revision of a poem I had previously posted elsewhere (I hope that's OK). I generally don't revise poems - feel they should capture the moment or a moment of reflection - but my muse is on vacation; so I thought I'd revisit this one.

The Waiting Room

I knelt to tie my shoe.

Over and under, then
pulled into a
knot.
One string folded in half – pinched into a little half bow -
like those awareness ribbons.
Over and under, then
pulled into a
knot.

Goodbye my friend.

Really interesting and, well, sorry for this loss.
Enjoying much the way you expressed in a short but excellent poem.

Mick, Great to have you check in to the M3. This poem sadly echoes my week. I went to a friends funeral, and whilst in the waiting room of the crematorium, several men did actually re-tie their shoe laces before the service. Uncanny, but proves the power of your always awesome words my friend,

Peace and hope,

Paul.
