Nature's Cycle
I stand
at the edge
of the forest,
gazing across
the hillside,
watching the clouds
paint
the valley
gray.
The wind picks up
and begins
to howl,
roaring through
my gossamer
gown,
over my shoulders
my red hair flies,
revealing
the tears
in my blue eyes.
I shiver
and tremble
inside
and out
as snowflakes
flutter
to the
sepia
earth,
softly
caressing
my silky
skin.
With daylight gone,
the darkness falls,
despair begins
to bleed
through
my veins,
and soon,
soon,
I find
myself
upon my knees,
drowning in
cascading tears.
The sun must fall
and the moon
must rise,
the seasons
must change
as seasons
do,
from
autumn
to winter
in no time
at all.
It's nature's cycle
for life to change,
from darkness
to light,
birth and
death,
it's all
a part of
nature's cycle.
