I've always had a fascination with wide leather belts, ever since I was a kid. And I later found myself attracted to men who wore wide leather belts, especially garrison belts. I would fantasize about those men giving me a "licking" with their wide leather belts. Those men seemed to exude masculinity. And if they also happened to wear their belt buckle to the side, it was all I could do to contain myself.
By the time I was in high school, in the early 1960s, I had this compulsion to wear a 1-3/4" wide black garrison belt with the buckle to the side. In the early 1970s, when I was living on my own, I could hardly wait to buy my very own 2" wide roller buckle belt, which were popular then. I bought a black one and a brown one, and I wore them all the time, even at work. It felt so good wearing such wide leather belts. By now, it should be apparent to the reader that I had a wide leather belt fetish.
After I came out in the gay community in 1980, I met a lot of gay men, but I generally only went home with those who expressed a desire for S&M, which was more of a turn-on for me than "vanilla sex". However, none of those guys seemed to have the intense interest in wide leather belts that I had. So I felt like a minority (of one) within another minority (of being gay).
Then, in the 1990s, I met a guy at a gay bar who played pool there a lot. I noticed he always wore a 1-3/4" wide black garrison belt with the buckle on his left side. This was quite a turn-on for me. I spent a couple nights at his place. He would let me tie him down on his bed spread-eagled and then I would whip his ass with the garrison belt I was wearing. From the number of wide leather belts I found lying around his apartment, it seemed I had finally found a "kindred spirit". And it seemed that my interest in wide leather belts was somehow connected to my interest in corporal punishment.
About a decade later, I found an interesting story someone had posted on the Internet. It involved the author, who was gay. When he was in college, he shared an apartment with 2 other guys who he presumed were straight, as they had girlfriends. He found himself attracted to one of his roommates. That roommate owned a motorcycle and wore a lot of leather riding gear including harness boots, chaps, and a leather jacket. The author also said his roommate liked to wear wide leather belts, and he described four of them that had particularly turned him on. When I read his description of those 4 belts, I knew I had found another "kindred spirit", as they were exactly the kind of belts that had turned me on in the 1970s. He then went on to mention in his story that, one time, while his roommate was out, he entered his roommate's room. He related what it felt like as he handled his roommate's belts and when he tried one of them on. I found his description of that experience quite illuminating.
I managed to contact the author and carried on an Email correspondence with him for several years. Some of my posts on this forum had their humble beginnings in that correspondence. He told me that the story he had posted was true. Besides his interest in wide leather belts, he also shared my interest in guys who wear their belt buckle to the side AND my interest in bondage. However, he did not seem to share my interest in corporal punishment which had seemed so closely related to my interest in wide leather belts.
I believe the author may have made a significant connection between 2 of our mutual interests, namely, the wearing of wide leather belts and an interest in bondage! This had never occurred to me before. When he described what it felt like as he tried on his roommate's wide leather belt, he used the expressions "like being embraced in leather", "like being captured by leather", and "Wearing a belt like that must be like being in bondage all day, every day."
