"they will do anything to beat the top team"

The good and the bad - lets start with the good.

RESERVES;
An important game away and on the other side of Melbourne, With both teams on 13 points (Ringwood with the better goal difference) sitting 2nd and 3rd and wanting to catch the top team who had the bye this week.
The lads were switched on from the start and were using the strong wind to there advantage. With only 10 minutes on the board Chris C made a dashing run down the right wing, passing two defenders, when the third defender made a late challenge and brought him down in the box to win himself a penalty, and he made no mistake from the spot sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0
Fifteen minutes later the second came from a well taken corner from Chris C to find Jacek waiting at the back post to head his third for the season. 2-0
With the boys dominating all over the park the third goal came when Stefan ran onto a clever through ball from steve P leaving there defence for dead and cool under presure placed it past the keeper. 3-0
Second half the Boys had to work hard against the wind and continued to dominate and creating more chances but unable to add to the tally. Great performance from everyone another clean sheet for Lester in goals. 3-0 win.
SENIORS;
Another important game for both teams, with Ringwood looking to extend there lead at the top of the table and Caufield sitting third needing to close the gap and stay in touch. Caufield took the wind in the first half and tried to unsettle Ringwood from the start, and they got there reward 20 minutes in when Ian M and the defence failed to clear a long high ball to the back post only to see there striker waiting and easally head home from close range the opener. 1-0 down
With Tox heavily marked and given no room the midfield had to work alot harder to find a way through, with both teams creating plenty of chances the first half ended at 1-0.
Second half the boys came out with plenty to play for and from the start put the presure on and had Caufield pinned in there defensive half. 15 minutes later the break we were looking for came when Tox shook of his marker and danced his way into the penalty box and slotted the ball past the keeper. 1-1
The boys had the run and were looking to take the lead, when against the run of play and there striker clearly in an offside position which saw him go around Ian M and make it 2-1.
With 15 minutes to play the boys were not going to go down without a fight, and fight they did pushing extra players forward and attacking the goals only to see there keeper save from close range from Tox and Rowan and shots from Rodrigo, James and Chris just go wide of the post. With only minutes on the clock the nail in the coffin came when again a high long ball to the back post caught the defenders and the keeper of gard only to see there player head home and give Ringwood's first loss of the season. Not to worry lads we bounce back and continue our undefeated home record next week. The good sign is you lose and your still on top of the table.
