THE STAGE WAS SET: It was top off the table clash, it was a Thursday night kick of and on a playing surface that you dream to play on every week.

With only 3 games remaining and having to play Parkmore twice in the coming weeks the boys knew that a win will give them a 5 point lead.

It was cold and windy conditions but this didn't stop the loyal Ringwood supporters in coming and cheering for there team, and also out numbering the opposition and cheering the loudest.

First 15 minutes it was all about getting use to the synthetic pitch and the cold windy conditions, but soon after Ringwood looked like the team that settled first. On the 20th minute mark Ringwood won themselves a free kick 40 metres out and a good opertunaty to test there keeper, and they did when a long high ball was knocked into the box, where there keeper failed to hold the ball, spilling out of his hands and gifted Luke Van Gulik the easiest tap in. 1-0.
There wasn't much time to celebrate and Parkmore leveled the score with 15 minutes remaining till half time. Both teams had there chances to go into the break with the lead but failed. so the first half was locked at 1-1.

Second half started and the game began to get tough and physical, when in the 15th minute mark Parkmore were to physical on Tox and brought him down in the penalty box, and the ref awarded Ringwood a penalty and a chance to take the lead again, up stepped the reliable capt Luke Van Gulik who had a 100% record for the season from the penalty spot, and made no mistake sending the keeper the wrong way and the strong crowd into a frenzy. With plenty of time on the clock Parkmore had to dig deep to find an equaliser but the Ringwood boys wern't going to have any of that, they worked extra hard all over the park giving the vistors no time on the ball. With the big crowd letting the referee know that there wasn't much time on the clock, Parkmore through extra players forward and try to save atleast a point when they thought they scored the equaliser in the dying minutes when one of there players was free in the back post and from close range head the ball to goals, when out of nowhere Matt through himself across the face of goals and got a hand on the ball and tapped it around the post and out for the last corner of the day. An all mighty raw from the Ringwood supporters deafened the stadium when the referee blew his whistle for the end of the game. Brilliant result from everyone involved.

The boys had a well earned bye 48 hours later and Parkmore had to travel to Harrisfield Hurricanes and it proofed to be telling on there overworked bodies and only managed a 1-1 draw.

Next Saturday history in the making for both teams SENIORS and RESERVES can rap up the championship with 2 victories, so i demand everyone to come down to Ringwood soccer club and help the boys get over the line........
