Yes sir Charlie, I do have some info!
Welcome aboard to Company "F", Jacksons Vollunteers from Jackson Parish LA!
JacksonParish is in North/central LA and more resembles the heartland of Dixie than the swamps and cajuns that most folk think of about Louisiana. I've tried to google some info about the history of the Parish but haven't found much of use. I'd sure appreciate anything that would help us with our impression.
As far as I know, rations will be provided by the event. They may be light, but if it is anything like "Banks Grand Retreat" you will not be hungry.
Col. aufmuth has asked that we all bring 150 rounds per man. He says that he will not check each man, and we may not actually need that many, but "if you run out, it's on you." I will be bringing on of the Texas Rifle's ammo boxes to be put on the wagon. Please feel free to ad any rounds your amigos might want to add so that you don't have to pack them. Just make sure that you mar them somehow so that you can collect any extras after the event.
Packs OR blanket rolls are appropriate. Please double check the event CS guidelines to be sure which packs they are allowing us. Blanket rolls are certainly acceptable. It is mostly up to the individual how much weight you want to carry. Shelter halves ae definitely OUT for us Rebs but a couple of ground coths strung together make avery good shebang if its needed.
Let me know if you have any more questions or anything to ad. I can't wait to see you fellers in the field!
Frank
