Fellers,
I want to pass on some info from Battalion.
Please look back over the CS guidelines. Do your best to set your impression by what is written. AoT specific uniforms don't really fit in.
Remember that we will be drinking water from out of creeks with water purification tablets supllied by the event. If you have any allergies to Iodine you might want to consider getting yourself some Micropur or other alternative. Keep in mind that those sodium chlorite tablets take longer to properly treat your canteen and we will no doubt need lot's of water.
We can use ramrods but the National Forest Service has asked us to NOT ram paper. A dry winter increases the chance of Forest fire.
No shelter halves! Extra ground cloths can be strung together to make very servicable shebangs..., IF we have time to set them up.
Take care of your feet! Bring extra socks and some talc powder in a period container. Make sure that your brogans are broken in and will not break down and fall apart on the march.
Completely clean your weapon before the event and make sure that it is servicable. Bring cleaning supplies!
Go over skirmish drill and be prepared to use it.
Get in touch with your pards now and organize messes. Messes might not work, skirmish and march together but you will be fixing meals and eating together. Don't bring extra gear if you don't need it.
There is more to come. Please don't hesitate to sound off if you have any questions or concerns.
FJMarek
