The deep warmth inside Sirith is enhanced by the warmth of Rashkae's body. Unable to hear what he whispered to her, all she could make out in the relative dark of his beak movement was remark. But she guessed his true words. That's like you, Golden One. Complimenting others when you have done the most.
But tears of joy fill her azure eyes as he lays down so close to her, sending a sharp tingle down her spine.
She lays her head on his side, feeling the slow, regular breathing of the sleeper and is herself lulled into a deep, blissful sleep.
