Decades through melodies

Sung words hold my shape
as I drown in pleasant memories
that strum out from guitars

my heart finding the rhythm
beating from the drums of my past,
favourite songs
float me upon drifting streams
where I am at peace

settled upon the comfort
of a well worn saddle,
each note is known
and greeted like an old friend

I parade on by my recollections
reminiscing each phase of my life,
harmoniously waltzing past
the faces that have inspired my soul
from within a melody,
melodies which hold each decade
of my life tenderly
