Forest of Strength

Amidst the forest of strength,
of hope and shining light,
I stood within the moon's soft glow,
gazing intently at the sky,
mesmerized by the resplendent stars,
shimmering brightly in my eyes.

A gentle, peaceful breeze
quietly whispered through my hair,
playfully teasing my bouncy spiral curls,
captivating my earth-tone gown
into a mystical moonbeam dance
with the spirits of the wind.

After a while of just standing there
in serenity's gaze of long lost smiles,
I thought to myself: "I'm gonna be okay,"
and all of the trees that surrounded me
sent rays of warmth into my heart,
as if to say: "Indeed, you will, indeed you will."

Although I have come quite a long way,
journeyed far upon rough roads
and have crossed raging rivers of salty tears,
barely kept my balance upon the jagged rocks,
and somehow I made it through,
yet I still have a long way to go.

But no matter where I am in this life,
no matter what I do or how I manage,
no matter what happens tomorrow,
I know that I will not be alone,
I'm gonna be okay, I know it's true,
for my heart tells me so.

Suddenly every star seemed to twinkle at me,
as if in applause to my positive thinking,
showing support and showing love,
reinforcing the strength within
as well as igniting my inner light,
shining brighter than it ever has before.

With that newfound certainty, I smiled warmly
and released a deep and knowing sigh,
"I'm gonna be okay," I said out loud,
"Though there will still be times when I fall
and times when the pain becomes too much,
but within my heart I know, I'm gonna be okay."
