Touch

Trace your fingers
down my arm,
trail your hands
up and down my back,
rub my shoulders,
caress my neck,
feel your way
to my face.

Explore the contours
of my cheeks,
look deep
into my eyes,
see my soul,
know my heart.

Pull me close
and hold me tight,
run your fingers
through my hair,
kiss my forehead,
brush away my tears.

Take my hand
into yours,
squeeze it gently
and don't let go,
sit with me
for a while,
enfold your arms
around me.

Embrace me
with tenderness,
love me
for who I am,
caress me
in lullabies,
touch me
whisperingly.

Let me feel
your gentle hands
entangled within mine,
gift me with
your sweet touch,
bring forth
the light of hope.

Until the hour
of darkness passes,
hold me,
console me,
let me know
your touch...
