Ghost Love

Look into my eyes,
Whisper in a soft screech
Your ghostly love to me
While you stare at a loveless soul.

For I am not that dancer
Who gracefully dances
In your burning heart
Of purity and desire.

The girl you once thought you saw
Standing on that lonely cliff
So many years ago,
With that golden glow of an angel,

Eyes like sapphires sparkling in the sun
And a soft, gentle voice
That reminded you
Of the spirits soaring alongside the moon,

Was this love-seeking ghost
That you pretend to see
With your eyes so bright
And with a personality so sweet.

I wish to feel your soft touch
With my withered hand
And taste your kiss
I’ve longed for so long

But I fear this ghost love has torn us apart
For my knight has passed on the torch
To another that will replace me
In his loving, burning heart.
