Date Posted: 22:38:25 01/14/08 Mon Small Bricks I walked past the park to the far end of the city beyond the meat market where the crows gather where I go to feel the river It is possible to be alone amongst eight million people I fight for the time to just Shut Up .............and listen to the world past the first noise of some horn beyond the sound of rushed feet to the place where the earth speaks where the sounds of nature revitalizes my senses there is no concrete in heaven it weighs everything down painting life a dull gray I prefer small bricks placed one at a time I can see the imperfections the proof that mistakes laid on top of each other have a lasting purpose I was dreaming of some sailboat out on an open sea you were there you and the wind laughing as I tied a line. The last things I will think about before I end this poem were the first things I thought about before I wrote it you, and the river both running through me fast, forever free. ajs [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
