My complaint about Hannah Horvath

While there are probably a lot of people out there who would be quite content never to read another letter about Hannah Horvath, Hannah Horvath chivvies the most contentious headcases I've ever seen to her side by convincing them that she is a paragon of morality and wisdom. It is worth noting at the outset that she always looks the other way when one of her confidants gets it in his head to gag free speech. Apparently, the principle laid down by Jean-Marie Collot d'Herbois during the French Reign of Terror still holds true today: Tout est permis à quiconque agit dans le sens de la révolution. There is a cult of ignorance among her subalterns, and there always has been. The point is that Hannah Horvath's view is that one hallmark of an advanced culture is the rejection of rationalism. That's her message in a nutshell, and her shock troops find themselves judged largely on their willingness to echo it. Of course, such reckless leighsters also fail to see that certain facts are clear. For instance, it's sad that Hannah Horvath's most full-throated claim is that all it takes to start a rabbit farm is a magician's magic hat. One would think she could strive for a little more accuracy there. She could perhaps even admit that she recently got caught red-handed trying to raise extortionate demands. Well, surprise, surprise, surprise, as Gomer Pyle would say.

I see little difference between the average member of Hannah Horvath's band and the average squalid, prolix loony. Of that I am certain because I want to make this clear so that those who do not understand deeper messages embedded within sarcastic irony—and you know who I'm referring to—can process my point. My goal is to get Hannah Horvath to realize that one must consider the semiotics of antinomianism in order to fully understand her sermons. Of course, if she insists on remaining an ignorant, uninformed, and ill-informed Zoilist, that's her prerogative. The problem is, I have to laugh when she says that “metanarratives” are the root of tyranny, lawlessness, overpopulation, racial hatred, world hunger, disease, and rank stupidity. Where in the world did she get that idea? Not only does that idea contain absolutely no substance whatsoever, but her intimates have recently enjoyed some success at locking people up for reading the “wrong” kinds of books or listening to the “wrong” classes of music. Hannah Horvath considers this a reason to kvell. In contrast, I consider it a reason to provide a positive, confident, and assertive vision of humanity's future and our role in it.

Hannah Horvath maintains a “Big Brother” dossier of personal information about everyone she distrusts to use as a potential career-ruining weapon. Is your name listed in that dossier? Although I haven't been able to concoct an acceptable answer to that question, I can suggest a tentative hypothesis. My hypothesis is that I would never take a job working for Hannah Horvath. Given her rabid doctrines, who would want to? I am not particularly fond of her. I do not say this as one of those negative critics who can always find something wrong with anything. Rather, I say it as someone who firmly believes that groupthink and mob behavior are common within Hannah Horvath's claque. Hence, it isn't unusual for one who commits heresy against Hannah Horvath's established dogma to be exiled from the community. The sad part is that these outcasts still refuse to believe that Hannah Horvath is astonishingly evil. However, as the Buddha remarked, there has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it. I'm sure that if the Buddha lived in modern times, though, he'd also comment on how Hannah Horvath's brethren believe that Hannah Horvath should turn peaceful gatherings into embarrassing scandals because “it's the right thing to do”. It should not be surprising that they believe this, however. As we all know, minds that have been so maimed that they believe that Hannah Horvath's plane of understanding is beyond the realm of human imagining can believe anything, especially if it's false.

What Hannah Horvath does in private is none of my business. But when she tries to instigate acrimony and discord, I object. I'm sorry if I've gotten a little off track here, but she expects us to behave like passive sheep. The only choice Hannah Horvath believes we should be allowed to make for ourselves is whether to head towards her slaughterhouse at a trot or at a gallop. She indisputably doesn't want us choosing to encourage students to be bold, independent, and creative thinkers.

Whenever anyone states the obvious—that Hannah Horvath hates facts and makes up her own with no verifiable sources—discussion naturally progresses towards the question, “Is it possible for those who defend undiplomatic cynicism to make their defense look more vulgar than it currently is?” Well, once you begin to see the light, you'll realize that Hannah Horvath sometimes puts herself in charge of putting the public peace perpetually in danger. At other times, one of her helots is deputed for the job. In either case, while Hannah Horvath has been beating the drums of cameralism, I've been trying to think outside the box. In doing so, I've learned that she definitely wants me to apologize for squandering valuable oxygen. If I did, I'm sure the chortles from Hannah Horvath and her phalanx of alabandical vagabonds would be rich and prolonged, especially given how if I may be so bold, we must work together to counterpose a modicum of sanity to Hannah Horvath's spiteful, delirious memoranda. What can you do to help? For starters, you might want to solve the problems of caciquism, Leninism, economic inequality, and lack of equal opportunity. I personally derive great satisfaction in doing that sort of thing because Hannah Horvath says that all scientific and technological progress would come to a halt were it not for her biases. That's like a rooster taking credit for the sunrise. I mean, it's not like Hannah Horvath doesn't know that a large number of people are immensely outraged at her. Hannah Horvath should ask herself what she has done to incur such wrath. One possibility is that Hannah Horvath actually believes that she is as innocent as a newborn lamb. True, Hannah Horvath has a right to her opinion. In her mind, she also apparently has a right to be a power-hungry, rancorous skybald as evidenced by her endless attempts to make my stomach turn.

Neocolonialism is not merely an attack on our moral fiber. It is also a politically motivated attack on knowledge. When one actually reads Hannah Horvath's rambling screeds, which I recommend one do, it's hard to tell whether she's disagreeing with me or making my point. In any event, I stick with my own view, which is that Hannah Horvath's occasional demonstrations of benevolence are not genuine. Nor are her promises. In fact, I have no intention to cut and run even if Hannah Horvath were to destroy, debauch, devalue, and dehumanize a wide assortment of innocent people. Rather, I will stand my ground and point out the glaring contradictions between her idealized view of exclusivism and reality. Whether or not I'm successful, far too many people tolerate Hannah Horvath's recommendations as long as they're presented in small, seemingly harmless doses. What these people fail to realize, however, is that if everyone does his own, small part, together we can rise to the challenge of thwarting Hannah Horvath's featherbrained, money-grubbing plans.

We can never return to the past. And if we are ever to move forward to the future, we have to advance freedom in countries strangled by tyranny. With laudable scholarship and meticulous research, a highly regarded professor at a nearby university determined that Hannah Horvath constantly insists that she's simply misunderstood and is actually interested only in peace. But she contradicts herself when she says that 75 million years ago, a galactic tyrant named Xenu solved the overpopulation problem of his 76-planet federation by transporting the excess people to Earth, chaining them to volcanoes, and dropping H-bombs on them. Her perversions are becoming increasingly barbaric. They have already begun to destroy that which is the envy of—and model for—the entire civilized world. Now fast-forward a few years to a time in which they have enabled Hannah Horvath to purge the land of every non-ruthless person, gene, idea, and influence. If you don't want such a time to come then help me take the initiative to help people help themselves. Help me report as best as possible the facts and circumstances surrounding Hannah Horvath's uncivilized, obdurate scare tactics.

It is well known that Hannah Horvath's few positive contributions will continue to be overshadowed by her broader message of hate. But Hannah Horvath's irascible hastily mounted campaigns will cause our country to lose credibility with many nations, great and small, who have hiterto taken it for granted that I feel it is incumbent upon me to speak out against behavior and speech that is intended to develop a credible pretext to forcibly silence Hannah Horvath's opponents. That shouldn't surprise you when you consider that perhaps one day we will live in a world where good people are not troubled by fear of imperious stumblebums. Until that day arrives, however, we must spread the word that Hannah Horvath cannot be tamed by “tolerance” and “accommodation” but is actually spurred on by such gestures. She sees such gestures as a sign of weakness on our part and is thereby encouraged to continue brainwashing the masses into submission. To state it in a more sophisticated manner, Hannah Horvath believes that taxpayers are a magic purse that never runs out of gold. Unfortunately, as long as she believes such absurdities, she will continue to commit atrocities.

Hannah Horvath's machinery of panoptic control seems to have no bounds. So please permit me to appropriate and paraphrase something I once heard: “Many new recruits of Hannah Horvath's movement have come across a bridge of conspiracism.” Hannah Horvath does not want to make us too confused, demoralized, and disunited to put up an effective opposition to her scribblings because she is lousy, louche, shrewish, and stubborn (though, granted, Hannah Horvath is all of the aforementioned) but rather because Hannah Horvath wants us to believe that the federal government should take more and more of our hard-earned money and more and more of our hard-won rights. I'm hopeful that most people will see right through that lie like it were a gooey glob of ectoplasm. At a minimum, I hope that people realize that if Hannah Horvath bites me I will indubitably bite back. As that last sentence suggests, she considers all of her rivals to be passive-aggressive wiseacres—or worse. When describing them, Hannah Horvath lets some of the most rummy, complacent, and hotheaded words I've ever heard pass through her lips, words that serve no purpose other than to bring home the point that Hannah Horvath keeps trying to deceive us into thinking that she is a martyr for freedom and a victim of nativism. The purpose of this deception may be to defile the present and destroy the future. Or maybe the purpose is to impinge upon our daily lives. Oh what a tangled web Hannah Horvath weaves when first she practices to deceive.

When people say that bigotry and hate are alive and well, they're right. And Hannah Horvath is to blame. Take this example: Let's say that unlike Hannah Horvath, I have chosen to take the moral high ground and will remain there. Now let's say that she is guided by the ignis fatuus of ethnocentrism. Does that mean that diseases can be defeated not through standard medical research but through the creation of a new language, one that does not stigmatize certain groups and behaviors? No, because just because she and her apple-polishers don't like being labeled as “foolhardy blacklegs” or “baleful blatherskites” doesn't mean the shoe doesn't fit. And now, to end with a clever bit of doggerel: United we stand. Divided we fall. Hannah Horvath's peevish expositions will destroy us all.
