Subject: Booby Dupes (1945)

An excellent film, especially the early scenes with the boys as fish peddlers.

Booby Dupes includes a couple of things I don't recall seeing in a Stooges short before, but I have not seen every short.

(1) Moe mockingly repeats Curly's "nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk" laugh right back at him, which works nicely.

(2) During the bombing scene at the end Moe yells out "Hey, it’s the stooges!" It's the first time I recall any of the guys referring to themselves as the Stooges, but there may have been other times it happened. Either way, it gave me a chuckle.

All in all, another great short. And thank goodness for Curly's Victrola!

Tim

I stopped eating meatballs years ago! LOL.

I have never seen anyone destroy the safety a boat has to offer, by taking an axe and making a gaping hole in the floor of their vessel by accident! It is a miracle that little "fan" got them out of there. I wonder how they would have held up if they had to deal with a great white shark and Robert Shaw's boat, the Orca! LOL.
