Subject: Favorite moments in Flagpole Jitters (1956)

This remake of "Hokus Pokus" has the boys in the usual predicament, but a gang of thieves was written in and the good-hearted hypnotist Svengarlic is now a crook they are working with. New scenes were filmed that show this and the ending is hilarious.

The flagpole comes crashing in the high-rise's window with the boys on it. The crooks are knocked out cold as it slams them into the safe head-first. BONK! The dynamite they lit goes off with a BOOM! with the explosion. When the smoke clears, Prince Barin runs in as the jolly police officer, says his lines and takes the crooks out. A good ending!

PS: I still felt sorry for poor Svengarlic when the guy on the bicycle bumped him into the wall and the vibrations loosened the flower pot and it fell right smack on his head (CRASH!) knocking him out cold! LOL.

I like the scene where Shemp gets tough with the Calamity Insurance representative (Vernon Dent). Shemp can really move for a guy in his fifties! He does pretty well until his foot gets hurt, lol.

It is a great ending, with policeman Prince Barin taking the criminals away, some 20 years after he was in Flash Gordon!
