Subject: Pest Man Wins (1951)

Larry, Moe and Shemp are exterminators with Lightning Pest Control and are hired to ply their trade in a ritzy mansion.

Shemp: "I'll be as quiet as a mice."

Fifi the Maid: "There is mouses in the houses."

"A barking dog never bites."

One of the funniest scenes occurs when a mouse gets inside the clothing of Mr Philander (Vernon Dent) and the Stooges join him in a wild dance.

The pie-flinging finale features stock footage from Half-Wits Holiday, including the following exchange:
"You act as though the Sword of Damocles is hanging over your head..."
"Lady, you must be psychic."

Moe rinses his hair after a pie fight (also from Half-Wits Holiday).

No thanks, I'll pass on the punch. Heh.

Tim

The ending of this short could have been the end for "Half-Wits", had Curly not fallen ill on the set. At the end, we see Moe washing up in the punch bowl and fade out. The director couldn't figure out a way to conclude it, where as in "Pest Man", it has closure after the stock footage ends.

Closure being the three-note NBC tone played for The Three Stooges, lol.
