Subject: O.T. MRSA

This highly contagious & potentially fatal Staph has gotten hold of my SIL (my sewing partner) & my sons girlfriend. Sons girlfriend had a small pimple like place on her hiney. Within 4 days she was hospitalized, put on IV antibiotics & had surgery. SIL has been fighting "something" for almost 6 months. Drs had her on 1 of the antibiotics to treat it but not both (it takes a combination of 2). We finally talked her into seeing another Dr. that diagnosed her with MRSA, did surgery & the prescribed the "correct" antibiotic treatment. Both are home & on the mend.

PLEASE be on the lookout for any small bump that becomes infected, red & hot. It "could" turn into MRSA. I know diabetics are more susceptible to lotsa things & this is one of them. Here is some good information I found online from the Mayo Clinic.

Willow,
Thanks for the heads up. I wondered what it looked like. I have a rash on my legs and the doc said it wasn't anything to worry about. But he also told me to put Cortizone 10 on it.
