Subject: Hi everyone

It seems like forever since I've been on here or the Voy but the last 13 weeks have been hectic. It's been 13 weeks today since DH had his bypass surgery. He couldn't drive for 7 weeks so I had to take him everywhere including cardiac rehab when it started. It's 3 days a week. His 36th and last session will be June 27. The surgeon and cardiologist say he is doing fine. Our regular dr is still trying to get his meds regulated. Right now they are having trouble keeping his blood pressure up. In the meantime, I'm having to do everything so he won't hurt himself or get stressed. The other people in his rehab class are all older than him but they all had stents. He is the only one that had surgery. He is still having pain in his right side ribs.

I seem to spend most of my time now in the yard. It seems like I no sooner get everything mowed and trimmed and it's got to be done again. I got rid of our above ground pool--gave it away. We were tired of taking care of it and our grown kids wanted to use it but not help take care of it so now its gone. I hope to put a storm shelter in the hole that was left--the pool had a deep end. Just don't know when that will be. I have several other outdoor projects that have to be done first.

Working outside has helped keep my sugars down but I'm not losing any weight. I drink water all day long. I only have a diet coke if we go out to eat or late at night while I'm on the computer--that's caffiene free diet coke. I rarely have any time for myself except after he goes to bed which is usually 2-3 in the morning. There have been many times I have just gone on to bed and left him up. When he gets out in his train room, he completely loses track of time. But he is going to have to cut that out. The dr has said he can go back to work "as tolerated". Right now that means 2-3 hrs a day. He works at a computer and his work is more mental than physical but he will have to learn to get up from his desk at least every 2 hrs and take a short walk.

I have some flowers I have got to get into the ground but it's supposed to rain today. Maybe I can get some work done inside the house for a change. I hate coming thru my front door because my house is such a disaster. I really need my DH to take a week vacation away from here and leave me so I can clean my house. I sure can't get anything done with him home. Every time I get started on a project, he wants me to do something for him. I haven't done any crafting since Feb.

OK, it's after 6 and I haven't been to bed yet and this novel is getting a bit long. I will honestly try to keep in touch better. I am also helping my best friend with her wedding which is in September.

I'll try to be back soon. Tona

Tona,
WOW! It sounds like you have had your hands full. Why is that we don't get anything done--that we want done--when our hubbies are around? I know I put my hubby ahead of what I want because he has traveled for business our whole marriage, so he was away a lot.
But it sounds like you enjoy working outside, I do too, when it isn't hot. We also have an above ground pool. We just get our son to come over long enough to help get the cover off, usually, but this year we did it ourselves. He came over right as we was finishing getting it off. But we all enjoy the pool and he (our son) does help with other things.
I hope your hubby gets back to normal soon. Please remember to take care of yourself too. And take time to check in here and craftsayings. Call it your "ME" time. Yes, we all need some "ME" time so take it!!!
Hugs,
Laurel
