I would like to take a class on diabetes. I am the one who shops & cooks for my DH. He is Native American & gets treated for free but I am not N.A. & they will hardly talk to me. I had an appointment to talk with the nutritionist & she canceled....TWICE!!! I do alot of research on the net & take advice from family & friends too.

Willow,
Have your DH ask about classes. If they give them,go with him and sit in on them. If only your DH takes any handouts, if any are given, they can't object to your being there. I went with a friend of ours--no problem. It would be worth a try. Just hope they offer classes. Native Americans are very prone to diabetes. The least the government could do is educate them how to handle it.
